Overview

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for an assigned group of Med Surg patients using the nursing process and established standards of care.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, perform treatments, manage IV therapy, and provide wound care as prescribed.
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines; supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff on the unit.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record; communicate changes to the care team.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and professional judgment to ensure patient safety, comfort, and timely escalation of issues.

Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in California
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Med Surg nursing experience preferred; ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts; 36 hours per week; travel assignment and unit-specific orientation
