Job Details Job Location: Portsmouth, VA 23704 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $13.00 - $14.00 Hourly Job Shift: Afternoon Shift: 3 pm- 11 pm Job Category: Restaurant - Food Service Job Title: Busser Department: Food & Beverage Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Supervisor Job Summary The Busser supports the Food & Beverage team by maintaining a clean, organized, and guest-ready dining environment. This role ensures tables are set promptly, dining areas are clean and stocked, and servers are supported so guests receive fast, friendly, and efficient service. Key Responsibilities Guest Service Support Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently Assist servers in delivering food and beverages as needed Refill water glasses and provide table support during service Respond promptly to guest requests in a courteous manner Dining Area Maintenance Maintain cleanliness of tables, floors, and service areas Ensure napkins, silverware, condiments, and service stations are fully stocked Remove trash and linens throughout shift Keep service and kitchen walkways clear and safe Team Support Assist with opening, closing, and side work Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations Support team members during peak business periods Follow supervisor instructions and assist with additional tasks as assigned Safety & Sanitation Maintain cleanliness standards according to health department and company guidelines Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures Report spills, broken items, or unsafe conditions immediately Top Requirements: Team Up: Be Golden, Collaborate and Help Others Succeed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Prior restaurant or hospitality experience is helpful but not required Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment Strong teamwork and communication skills Positive attitude and guest-focused mindset Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours) Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced environment Schedule Requirements Availability to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed Flexible schedule based on business demands Who are we looking for?
