Staff Accountant

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Staff Accountant . This role plays a key part in supporting our Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including billing, payment posting, collections, and month‑end close. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for revenue recognition and ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process customer billing in a timely and accurate manner. Record and apply customer payments; maintain up‑to‑date AR subledgers. Manage collections activities, including communication with customers and internal teams. Support month‑end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting. Perform revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and organizational policies. Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed. Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve billing and revenue‑related issues. Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of accounting experience required, with hands‑on AR responsibilities. Revenue recognition experience required. Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred. Non‑profit accounting experience is a plus. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem‑solving ability. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
