About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of level 4 NICU experience, Cardiac PICU experience preferred. License: Must have a state license; pending licenses accepted provided temporary license can be obtained before start. Certifications: RRT, BLS, NRP required; ACCS preferred. Must-Have: Must have experience in caring for patients in the NICU and PICU. The candidate should be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication and critical thinking skills are required. The candidate must work every other weekend and every other holiday. Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Experience with all units of a children's hospital is preferred. Description: This position is for a Respiratory Therapist in a high-acuity pediatric environment. The ideal candidate will manage respiratory care for neonates and pediatric patients. Responsibilities include working in neonatal intensive care units and pediatric intensive care units. The therapist will assist in high-risk deliveries and provide care for patients with complex conditions. Competence in using advanced respiratory equipment is essential. The therapist will be involved in the delivery of care that includes nebulization treatments, intubations, and monitoring of patients’ respiratory statuses. Teamwork with medical professionals in various specialties is necessary to enhance patient outcomes. The candidate will participate actively in the development and implementation of care plans. The individual should be prepared to support a wide range of respiratory therapies. Healthcare providers must be familiar with handling emergencies and providing critical care. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to ever-changing patient needs are essential to this role.
