Instructional Assistant – Norristown, PA

Location: Norristown, PA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Overview

Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking a dedicated Instructional Assistant to support children in Montgomery County . This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and enjoy working in a collaborative, supportive classroom environment. The Instructional Assistant will play an important role in helping young learners develop academically, socially, and emotionally while supporting the classroom teacher in daily activities.

Responsibilities

Assist the classroom teacher with implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate activities
Support children during instructional time, play, and group learning activities
Help maintain a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
Provide assistance with hygiene needs as necessary (most children are potty trained, though some may require support)
Supervise children during transitions, meals, and outdoor play
Assist with classroom organization and preparation of learning materials
Communicate effectively with the teaching team and site leadership

Requirements

Previous childcare or classroom experience preferred
Ability to assist with basic hygiene and care needs
Dependable, patient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced classroom setting
Ability to pass all required background checks and clearances
