Manager, Business Services Recruitment

Our People team is responsible for managing and enhancing all aspects of human resources and employee experience. Our team oversees talent acquisition, including recruiting, interviewing and onboarding new hires, ensuring that the Firm attracts and retains top legal talent and business services professionals. We develop and implement HR policies, manage employee relations, and administer compensation and benefits programs to ensure a fair and supportive work environment. Additionally, the People team focuses on training, professional development, work allocation, mobility and fostering a positive workplace culture. We also handle performance management, employee engagement, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. Through our comprehensive HR strategies and initiatives, the People team ensures that the Firm’s workforce around the world is motivated, skilled and mobilized to deliver on the Firm’s objectives.The Manager, Recruitment plays an important role, working directly with Recruitment leadership and the assigned workforce to ensure the effective operation of Firm policies. The role contributes to and supports strategic decision making, with an operational and tactical focus. Recognized as an expert in Recruitment matters, the Manager leverages comprehensive knowledge of Recruitment to address complex challenges. This role is required to provide in-depth specialist advice and counsel to the business, facilitating effective commercial decision-making and informing strategy development.The roles and responsibilities of this job include:Recruitment Process Management:Source candidates via web advertising, search firms, referrals, networking, databases, candidate portals, LinkedIn etc. Ensure all roles are approved via the firm’s Recruitment Approval process, and that they are then advertised internally and on external careers sitesBuild, develop and maintain our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and workflow products, e.g. candidate and position trackersConduct candidate outreach and screening interviews for prospective candidatesManage all stages of the offer process, including coordinating with our internal compensation team to provide up-to-date salary and market informationLiaise with the internal immigration team to assist with candidate visa and immigration mattersStakeholder Relationship Management:Build and maintain internal relationships with various stakeholder groups, particularly department heads and regular hiring managers and provide consultative advice and support during the entire recruitment lifecycleBuild and maintain agency relationships, including contract negotiationsLiaise with all levels of management to develop and maintain recruitment plans and strategy, with the aim of forward planning for both growth and attritionProvide regular market information from both internal and external sourcesProcess and Procedure:Deliver a high level of recruitment process to key stakeholders, providing a consistent experience to all business services functions, and focusing on improving the candidate experienceWork closely with the US lateral recruitment team and regional counterparts to develop and deliver innovative recruitment strategies and ideasDevelop and produce regular and meaningful reporting for Recruitment leadership and key stakeholders, including number of roles filled, candidate sources, cost savings via direct recruitment and new initiatives to attract candidates, ensuring updates are timely and informativeAdditional Responsibilities:Participate on global/regional/office project teams and undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by leadershipParticipate in meetings related to the activities of the Recruiting department or related projects, when requestedContribute to team effort through communication, cooperation and coordination with other team membersMaintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing and contributing to related professional publicationsMaintain the practice of continuous improvement and education by attending seminars, etc., and keeping current on new leadership skillsExercise professional judgment and confidentialityMaintain professional and comfortable interaction with all levels of attorneys and staffUphold firm, departmental and team rules and proceduresQualificationsBachelor's Degree5+ years of legal recruiting experience in law firm environmentSelf-starter, intellectual curiosity, creative thinker and problem solverOutstanding oral and written communication, with strong presentation skills; good negotiation skills, with a professional presenceStrong time management skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure when juggling multiple tasksProven ability to quickly develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the broader Recruiting team, People Advisory team, partners and business services leaders to drive measurable results against strategyCompensation Range: $135,000-$175,000This role reports toDirector, RecruitmentEqual OpportunitiesWhite & Case is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and is committed to creating a fair workplace.
