Work Environment

This role is performed onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, which is designed to create a welcoming atmosphere for both patients and staff. The facility is equipped with modern therapeutic equipment, allowing our physical therapists to utilize the most effective treatment methods. The work schedule comprises 40 hours weekly, with variable weekends to accommodate patient needs and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patients to identify functional limitations and disabilities, developing individualized treatment plans that address their specific needs.
• Consult with healthcare providers regarding the continuum of care for patients, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
• Implement treatment plans that may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and functional training, consistently re-evaluating progress and adapting strategies as needed.
• Accurately document evaluation findings, treatment progress, and patient interactions according to regulatory standards and best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation aides, to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives, contributing to quality improvement projects, marketing activities, and program development.
• Supervise and mentor support staff, including Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and students, sharing your expertise and fostering their professional growth.
• Participate in continuing education opportunities to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills, attending in-services and staff meetings to keep abreast of best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, sports injuries, post-incarceration rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. This role emphasizes culturally competent care, ensuring all interactions are respectful and tailored to the unique backgrounds of our patients.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid State License in Physical Therapy is necessary to practice in New Jersey.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to interact with patients and collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, are necessary for accurate documentation and communication.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a rehabilitation setting is preferred but not mandatory. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in developing and implementing patient-centered treatment plans is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
