GS-7 The following qualifications qualify an applicant for GS-7: Specialized experience: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in Federal service, performing tasks such as assisting with preparing and processing administrative documents, providing user assistance on automated systems, databases, and software, issuing access and editing documents, creating a variety of documents and reports, and maintaining a filing system. Education: Successful completion of one full year of graduate education in a closely related field (e.g., Business, Finance); or Superior Academic Achievement: Possess a Bachelor's Degree or expect to complete the requirements for a Bachelor's degree within the next 9 months AND possess at least one of the following criteria: class standing in the upper third of the graduating class; an overall GPA of 3.0 based on courses completed during the final two years; a GPA of at least 3.5 based on the average of required courses completed in the major field; or election to membership in a national scholastic honor society. Combining Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. GS-9 The following qualifications qualify an applicant for GS-9: Specialized experience: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in Federal service, performing tasks such as advising employees on procedures for completing travel authorizations, vouchers, expense reimbursements or similar documents; providing assistance with preparing requests for foreign travel and relocations; maintaining records regarding travel; and verifying information within travel and financial web‑based systems. Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance): Master’s or equivalent graduate degree; or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B or J.D., if related. Combining Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of one full year.

GS-11

The following qualifications qualify an applicant for GS-11: Specialized experience: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in Federal service, performing tasks such as conducting reviews of travel and financial requests and documents to ensure consistent and correct application of practices, regulations, and policies; making recommendations for approval of travel requests and payments; and determining areas of recurring problems or issues with specific travel cases and recommending corrective actions to resolve the issues. Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance): Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M, if related. Combining Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of two full years.
