Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education and valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (per Michigan Department of Education requirements), OR a bachelor’s degree with active enrollment in a Michigan-approved teacher certification program
- Preferential consideration for those with endorsements in Learning Disabilities (SM) and/or Cognitive Impairment (SA)
- Previous classroom teaching experience in school settings is highly valued
- Comprehensive understanding of inclusive practices, IEP implementation, and positive behavior support
- Skilled communicator, able to collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Delivering both direct and indirect instructional support to students with disabilities in resource room settings across elementary and high school sites
- Using evidence-based teaching practices—phonics, multisensory learning, repetition—to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Developing and modifying instructional plans to meet IEP goals, utilizing assistive technology and accommodations as needed
- Providing instruction in academic subjects and supporting the development of language, sensory, motor, and cognitive skills
- Planning engaging activities that balance direct teaching, guided practice, and student independence
- Maintaining ongoing collaboration with general education staff, allied professionals, administrators, and families to support student progress and compliance
These contract roles are onsite only, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week for the 2026–2027 school year.
