The Accounting Clerk I is responsible for general ledger transactions, and balancing, and item processing. This position processes various general ledger entries and performs multiple support functions as required as a part of the accounting and record-keeping functions of the credit union. This position requires the ability to work effectively with others on a standard task, to take actions that respect the needs and contributions of others, and the ability to work independently. Essential Job Functions Focus on Purpose/Mission: Focuses on the Credit Union's Purpose purpose and Mission mission Statement statement of creating financial wellness in our community through personal, everyday banking. Attention to Detail: Perform daily general ledger transactions and reporting support to the accounting team. Collaborative: Supports Item Processing for ACH, Draft, and Wires. Focused, Decision Making, and Problem Solving: Process adjustments and exceptions for share drafts, ACH (both ODFI and RDFI), cash letters, and shared branching, returns, and return check items. Engaged and Collaborative: Supports supply ordering for the credit union. Support item processing for ACH, drafts, and wires. Key Accountabilities General ledger posting and reporting support. Supply ordering support Requirements An associate degree in accounting or commensurate experience in a financial institution Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, functions, etc.) Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word The Ideal Candidate Is detail-oriented, and curious, and will leverage research to mitigate fraud losses. Has a strong aptitude for accounting practices. Possesses strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills. Maintains a strict standard of confidentiality. Performs well under pressure and is driven to meet deadlines while managing competing demands. Possesses both strong clerical and robust analytical skills.
