Assistant Payroll Manager

Our client, large beauty & skincare company, is looking for an Assistant Payroll Manager to join their team! This will be a fully remote role based out of the eastern time zone. The successful candidate will be an expert in ADP Workforce Now, have extensive multi-state payroll processing experience, and possess excellent communication skills to interact with employees at all levels.
- Please no corp-to-corp applicants or third-party agencies. Sub-contracted candidates or candidates that require immediate sponsorship cannot be considered.
- Contract Role: Temp to possible permanent opportunity
- Pay: $40-45/hr W2 (no C2C)
- Schedule: 35 hour work week M-F, standard shift
- Oversee and execute all payroll processing functions for a biweekly & monthly basis schedule (garnishments, sick pay, disability, special payments, etc.)
- Process federal and state amendments and issues corrected W2s as needed
- Reviewing quarterly and annual tax reports
- Respond to employee inquiries and pay and taxes
- Perform audits on external files related to retirement and benefits
- Ensure compliance with state and local tax jurisdictions
- 5+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience
- 2+ years of recent ADP Workforce Now experience is required
- Prior experience working in the beauty, fashion, or retail industries is preferred
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
