Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by lending your expertise as a Special Education teacher for the upcoming academic year. Multiple contract openings are available for dedicated Special Education teachers who are passionate about helping students thrive in an inclusive school environment. Opportunities exist for Autistic Support at the elementary level, Learning Support at the middle school, and Learning Support at the high school level.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate required by start date (emergency permits may be sponsored through HR)
- Previous experience teaching Special Education preferred
- Ability to provide support tailored to students' individual needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school personnel
- Enthusiastic commitment to cultivating an equitable, encouraging learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction for students in either Autistic Support (elementary) or Learning Support (middle and high school)
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Deliver instruction aligned with state standards and adapted to meet the diverse needs of learners
- document progress, maintain compliance records, and communicate regularly with stakeholders
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school activities
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to foster student growth
Assignment Information:
- 35 hours per week from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027
- Elementary Schedule: 8:15am – 3:45pm; Middle School: 7:15am – 2:45pm; High School: 7:13am – 2:43pm
- Six total positions: 1 Autistic Support teacher (elementary), 1 Learning Support teacher (middle school), 4 Learning Support teachers (high school)
