Physical Therapist

Works under limited supervision while administering various standard physical therapy treatments for disabilities, injuries, and diseases. Focus on relieving pain, restoring motor function, and maintaining optimal performance. This position is represented by a professional association.

Standard physical therapy treatments include administering physical therapy treatments in accordance with standard practice, supervising administration of treatments to patients by assistants, and instructing home care personnel in correct lifting techniques and use of body mechanics.

Bachelor's Degree from a four-year accredited college or university in physical therapy, or degree in a related field is required. Ability to organize and monitor the work of others is necessary. Aptitude to relate effectively with patients and healthcare staff in a courteous, professional manner is essential. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required. Analytical and diagnostic ability is essential for interpreting physician orders and developing effective treatment plans. Evidence of automobile insurance is required when travel is necessary. Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills suited to meet the demands of the job.
