The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Maintenance Specialist, Building/Facility/Construction, Journey 1, for the Spring Creek Correctional Center (SCCC), located in Seward, Alaska. Watch Alaska DOC's video here: DOC 2026_45 sec What You Will Be Doing Maintenance Generalist Lead position reports to the Maintenance Foreman and is primarily responsible for, but not limited to, performing general rough and finish carpentry work. Installing and repairs carpet, flooring, tile and drywall. Prepares surfaces for paint and paints surfaces. Repairs and maintains structures and equipment. Operates heavy equipment. The Working Environment You Can Expect Spring Creek Correctional Center is a maximum security state operated adult correctional institution that has a capacity of over 500 male inmates and employs approximately 200 staff. While much of Spring Creek's inmate population serve long term sentences, we also house prisoners serving shorter sentences.
