Sign‑On Bonus: $10,000 Shift schedule: Full‑time Progress West shifts: 7 am – 7:30 pm Barnes St. Peters shifts: 9 am – 9 pm Every 3rd weekend Rotating holidays (3 per year) Work between Progress West and Barnes‑St. Peters Hospital locations NICU experience preferred Overview Progress West Hospital opened in 2007. It is BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms, 24‑hour emergency services, and a partnership with St. Louis Children’s Hospital for world‑class pediatric emergency care. The hospital offers surgical services, endoscopy, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and an Advanced Wound Center. It recently expanded its Childbirth Center with enhanced services for at‑risk mothers and babies, including a newborn ICU for infants born as early as 32 weeks. Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center, and its medical office building houses specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics. The Respiratory Care team works side by side with nurses and physicians, providing services to all areas of the hospital and supporting the hospital’s guiding principles of customized, patient‑centered care. Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care for patients within hospital and department guidelines. Provide advanced clinical respiratory expertise and serve as a resource to others as part of the patient care team. Ensure patient safety by delivering effective, developmentally and age‑appropriate care while complying with quality, regulatory, and quality‑improvement requirements. Communicate and collaborate with the healthcare team, including documentation, handoff, and other information exchange. Educate and train patients, families, students, new employees, and healthcare team members on respiratory therapy treatments and procedures, accommodating diverse learning styles. Continuously seek learning and feedback opportunities, prioritizing and managing multiple duties effectively. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures following established standards, procedures, guidelines, and policies. Apply respiratory knowledge and clinical expertise, including assessment, analysis, and troubleshooting as needed. Demonstrate advanced clinical and critical care skills for additional responsibilities such as ECMO support, mechanical ventilator support, bronchoscopies, sleep lab, labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary and circulatory rehabilitation, and Basic Life Support (BLS). Qualifications Education: Associate’s or CoARC Accredited Program in Respiratory Therapy (preferred Bachelor's Degree) Experience: No prior experience required; no supervisor experience required. Licenses & Certifications: Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BLS), Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT); RRT preferred.
