The Bookkeeper is a key member of the Boca Raton Synagogue (BRS) finance team and is responsible for the accurate day-to-day management of the synagogue's financial operations. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial systems simultaneously while ensuring that all transactions, deposits, invoices, and reconciliations are accurately recorded, processed, and completed on time.

BRS is a fast-paced, high-performing organization with multiple revenue streams, bank accounts, departments, and software platforms. We are seeking a highly organized professional who takes ownership of their work, follows through consistently, and maintains a high level of accuracy in a complex environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bookkeeping & Financial Operations
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely
• Record and maintain all financial transactions in QuickBooks
• Prepare bank deposits and record cash, check, credit card, ACH, and online transactions
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Reconciliation & Quality Control
• Ensure transactions are accurately reflected across multiple systems
• Systems Management
• Work within multiple software platforms, including QuickBooks, ShulCloud (synagogue managementsoftware), banking portals, payroll systems, and other financial tools
• Verify data integrity between systems
• Learn and adapt to new technologies and workflows as needed
• Team Support
• Assist with annual audits and year-end processes
• Communicate professionally with staff, vendors, members, and volunteers regarding financial matters

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience; nonprofit experience preferred
• Strong QuickBooks experience
• Experience reconciling multiple bank and credit card accounts
• Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of transactions with accuracy
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Experience working with multiple software platforms simultaneously
