Clinical Laboratory Technician - Serology/Immunohematology

Labor Technologist – Tampa, FL LabCorp is seeking a Technologist in Tampa, FL. Work schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 1:00a.m. – 9:30a.m. Job Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with processing of specimens when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology with a focus on Serology/Immunohematology. Florida State License. Preferred Qualifications 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience. ASCP or AMT certification. Additional Job Standards Non‑traditional degrees that meet CLIA standards may satisfy education requirements. Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures. Experience working in a high‑volume laboratory environment. Ability to work independently and within a team. Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems. High level of attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position. Pass a standardized color‑blindness test. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
