Marathon Staffing, a premiere staffing company, is seeking Experienced Cooks to join our team in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area.
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and dependable Cook to prepare and cook a variety of high-quality food items in a fast-paced casino restaurant environment. The Cook will be responsible for following recipes and food preparation standards, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and ensuring all meals are prepared and served according to established quality and presentation standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, menus, and portion-control standards.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, measuring, and mixing food items.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure food is prepared and served at the appropriate temperature and quality.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
- Monitor food inventory and notify management when supplies are needed.
- Assist with receiving and stocking food and kitchen supplies.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other kitchen and restaurant Team Members.
- Follow all casino and restaurant policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Supervisor.
- Previous experience as a Cook, Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar kitchen position preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or casino environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds , as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Must be available to work 3 pm-11 pm, or as needed.
- Food Handler Safety Card, preferred by the local health authority.
- Previous experience working in a casino or hospitality environment.
