Project Accountant

The Project Accountant supports construction projects by managing budgets, tracking costs, forecasting financial performance, and ensuring accurate billing and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This role partners closely with project managers and operations teams to maintain financial controls, ensure contract compliance, and drive timely, informed decision-making.

Description

The Project Accountant will

• Maintain and monitor project budgets, including setup, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Prepare and process monthly billings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms
• Manage cost reporting, including labor, subcontractor, materials, and general conditions
• Support project managers with financial insights to drive informed operational decisions
• Review and process subcontractor invoices and change orders
• Assist with monthly close activities, including accruals and revenue recognition
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements
• Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to support overall project financial health

Profile

A successful candidate is detail-oriented and analytical, with a strong foundation in accounting principles and experience supporting construction or project-based environments.
