License: Active state nursing license required or proof of application for license. Certifications: Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS. Must-Have: No disciplinary issues on nursing license; the ability to interpret heart rhythms and manage critically ill patients. Description: We are seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment. The schedule requires working three 12-hour shifts per week with weekend availability. Experience managing critically ill patients with multi-organ issues is essential. Nurses will be responsible for administering blood products and managing central lines. Candidates must be proficient in starting and maintaining IVs, administering IV sedation and vasopressors. The role includes caring for stroke patients and ventilated patients as well as managing BiPAP/CPAP. Nurses should be able to interpret arterial blood gases and follow isolation precautions. Triage skills are necessary for this position. Travelers must include any requested time off in their application, and no time off will be approved after the offer is made. All applicants will be interviewed via phone or virtually. Cardiac rhythm interpretation is a crucial skill as nurses are responsible for independently measuring telemetry strips. A minimum score of 80% will be required on a telemetry assessment on the first day of orientation. The assessment will cover identifying heart blocks, various arrhythmias, and understanding normal interval durations on telemetry strips. Successful candidates will provide appropriate clinical interventions in response to arrhythmias.
