Patient Care Associate: B2: Neuro/Surgical ICU-36 hours/week DAYS

Job Overview Department/Unit: ICU‑Surgical And Neuroscience – B2. Work Shift: Day (United States of America). Salary Range: $41,923.00 – $54,500.00. Position Summary: The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) works under the direction of the Registered Nurse, collecting patient data, performing personal care, and supporting nursing care with a focus on patient progress toward discharge. The PCA is trained to perform technical procedures such as blood draw and electrocardiography, collaborate with Materiel Coordinators for supplies, and maintain a clean, safe environment. Responsibilities Collect patient data, including vital signs, height and weight, and food and fluid intake and output. Perform point‑of‑care testing such as whole blood glucose. Turn, position, and mobilize patients and assist with ambulation, range‑of‑motion exercises, and use of assistive devices. Complete personal care: bathing, oral care, skin care, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Assist patients with eating, hydration, and general hygiene. Provide activity companionship for patients requiring observation. Report abnormal findings to the RN and patient‑care team. Participate in care planning, nursing report process, and documentation in the patient record. Incorporate patient/family rights into decision‑making and use standardized techniques for communication. Collaborate with Materiel Coordinators for stocking, storage, and use of supplies. Employ safe patient‑handling practices and maintain infection‑control standards, including transmission‑based precautions. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment of care.
