Clinic Manager - Heart Acquisition - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Clinic Nurse Manager holds 24‑hour accountability for the quality of patient care, efficiency of operations, and human resources management for assigned area(s). They strive to achieve the optimal patient experience in a cost‑effective manner while applying evidence‑based leadership and practice. Responsibilities Provide safe patient care consistent with professional standards and hospital policies. Promote a positive, professional environment; supervise charge nurses and front line staff; maintain a stable, productive staff; involve staff at all levels in Shared Governance and Magnet Forces; make data‑driven decisions. Role model performance and behaviors in line with the organization’s values, mission, vision, and strategic plan. Manage all clinical operations of the Heart Transplant, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Liver Program under the direction of the Transplant Administrator. Responsible for pre‑liver transplant, post‑liver transplant, and living donor transplant management; pre‑heart transplant, post‑heart transplant, and LVAD management; and clinical responsibilities of transplant, including directing supervisors of transplant. Oversee operations of patient care programs and provide 24/7 oversight of the transplant program. Direct nursing practice, education, and services; supervise utilization of resources and application of new technologies in patient care. Perform complex and varied administrative and clinical assignments; serve as personal contact for physicians, staff, and outside departments to address issues requiring attention. Identify and pursue new business opportunities; develop strategic partnerships; build relationships with key stakeholders; lead business development initiatives and drive revenue growth within organ groups; attend outreach events to enhance revenue and patient satisfaction. Provide program marketing and brand development; maintain marketing channels through social media platforms. Supervise all subordinate staff: recruit, screen, hire, orient, train, evaluate performance, provide guidance and feedback, counsel, discipline, terminate as required; maintain staff records; recommend promotions, terminations, and salary decisions. Ensure compliance with hospital policies for all clinical staff; conduct quality assurance programs; resolve incidents and complaints; prepare for inspections. Participate in policy formation, long‑range planning, administrative policy implementation; ensure adherence and provide interpretation. Develop and implement security related procedures; coordinate with University Public Safety Department; promote security awareness. Assess staff education needs and oversee development of education programs; promote staff participation in educational opportunities. Administer use of facilities, equipment, and space; manage upkeep. Communicate information, assignments, priorities, and special requests to staff; manage workload; monitor pending items and follow‑ups. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Minimum 5 years of experience managing clinical operations in a healthcare setting or precepting, mentoring, and/or leading clinical staff. Excellent people‑management skills; ability to motivate and challenge staff; strong decision‑making skills. High tolerance for frustration and ambiguity; ability to bridge administrative demands with clinical needs. High skill and experience in process improvement. Registered Nurse – RN (California Board of Registered Nursing) with a valid California license. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training (Los Angeles City); if not holding a card upon hire, must obtain within 30 days and renew before expiration. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing or in progress (strongly preferred). A Master’s in Nursing may be used in lieu of a Bachelor's. 1 year experience in transplant; 2 years experience in an acute or ambulatory setting.
