Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients across various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing by following established procedures and protocols.
• Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens, including obtaining patient initials and signatures when required.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to blood draws and patient interactions.
• Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, creating a trustworthy and professional environment.
• Operate confidently in forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
• Adhere to safety procedures and organizational policies, including dress code and patient confidentiality standards.
• Work independently to complete daily tasks accurately and on time in high-volume settings.
• Travel between multiple locations and cover shifts in different Patient Service Centers or in-office phlebotomy areas as needed, including weekends and holidays.

Required Skills

• Exceptional phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record if applicable.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively in high-volume settings.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, is necessary.
• Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred.
• Must demonstrate superior customer focus and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.
• Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
