Responsibilities Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Aircraft Base Maintenance department. Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of aircraft maintenance technicians. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Develop and implement maintenance procedures that adhere to FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines. Monitor and track maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion and minimal downtime. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure the quality and safety of all aircraft maintenance activities. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure efficient use of company resources. Train and mentor team members on new procedures, equipment, and technologies. Evaluate and address any performance or disciplinary issues within the team. Adhere to and promote a strong safety culture within the department. Keep up-to-date with industry developments and changes to regulations, and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost‑effective procurement of parts and equipment. Monitor and manage the budget for the Aircraft Base Maintenance department. Participate in meetings and provide reports on departmental performance and goals. Act as a liaison between the department and senior management, providing updates and recommendations as needed. Qualifications Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Aircraft Maintenance: A Supervisor of Aircraft Base Maintenance should have thorough knowledge of all aircraft systems, components, and maintenance procedures. Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably with American Airlines or a similar airline. Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of technicians and mechanics, providing clear instructions, setting goals, and ensuring productivity and efficiency. Excellent Problem‑Solving Abilities: Ability to think critically and make quick decisions to keep operations running smoothly. Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues. Knowledge Of Safety And Regulatory Standards: Thorough understanding of FAA regulations and safety procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a safe working environment. Effective Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with the team, upper management, and other departments.
