Location: Naples, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Employment Type: Evaluation Hire – Temp-to-Permanent
Compensation: Up to $80,000 annually, based on experience

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an experienced accounting and finance professional to join the government division of a well-established organization in Naples, Florida.

These positions will support the organization’s gas and oil operations and will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting, analysis, reconciliations and related financial-management functions.

This is an onsite position in a professional office environment, and each employee will have a private office. Candidates must be open to beginning through an evaluation-hire arrangement with the opportunity to transition to permanent employment based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Complete general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, trends and areas requiring additional review.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Monitor revenues, expenditures and account activity.
• Assist with government-related financial reporting and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
• Prepare bank, balance-sheet and other account reconciliations.
• Assist with internal and external audits by gathering documentation and responding to information requests.
• Support fixed-asset accounting, cash management and debt reconciliation as assigned.
• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and financial reports.
• Provide financial information to management to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with accounting, finance and operational departments.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
• Complete additional accounting and finance projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required.
• Three to ten years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Governmental accounting, auditing, fixed-asset accounting or gas and oil industry experience is preferred but not required.
• No specific accounting software experience is required.
