Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse located in Springfield, Illinois. The organization is seeking a qualified OR nurse with extensive general surgical experience to join a Level I trauma center. The role involves working in a busy acute care hospital environment, supporting a variety of surgical service lines with an emphasis on trauma and appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and other major procedures.

Job Details

• Position / Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
• Shift: Rotating, with 10-hour shifts
• Schedule: 40 hours per week, with shifts from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
• Required Qualifications: BLS certification; minimum 3 years' experience in general surgery and trauma; Illinois license active or in application process; Level I trauma experience; open to candidates with Cerner charting experience; specific case skills include laparoscopic-assisted procedures, general surgery, neurology, orthopedic, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, trauma, and emergency management.
• Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification, Cerner experience, and Level II trauma experience
• Additional Information: Will work with all service lines except cardiovascular. The candidate must be prepared for on-call duties once a week, with up to 36 hours of potential call-offs per thirteen-week assignment. Float within scope may be required occasionally.

• Other Requirements: Must have at least 50 miles residence from the facility. The candidate must provide SSN and DOB at submission, and submit availability for interviews.
