POSITION SUMMARY The primary role of the Irrigation Technician is to maintain and repair existing irrigation systems and to install new irrigation. The Irrigation Technician is to manage, direct and exceed assigned field jobs and provide support to Crew Leaders and Production Managers while maintaining the highest efficiency, safety, and production standards. EXPERIENCE & TRAINING The Irrigation Technician must have at least two years of experience related to irrigation systems and a valid Class “C” California Driver’s License with a safe driving record as required by our insurance company standards. The candidate should be able to perform multiple tasks, meet critical deadlines, and possess technical knowledge of commercial and landscape maintenance practices. Fluency in English and Spanish is required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The duties listed below are examples of the work typically performed by an employee in this position: A. Performs job functions timely and efficiently. Uphold, promote, and exceed all standards of safety as described in SGI’s policies and OSHA regulations. Report any employee injuries or liability claims immediately to PM and HR. Generate and implement, and exceed company policy, systems, and procedures of all Field Operations, Safety, Quality Control, and Technical Training Programs. Operate, detect, and make necessary repairs to the irrigation system. Accurately read various gauges related to the irrigation system. Assist the Production Manager with job quality evaluations of properties and recommend extra work or work orders to PM. B. The customer service standards of the organization are reflected in daily work habits. Research and respond to complaints within 24 hours unless possible to complete on the same working day. Respond to requests from other departments in a friendly and positive manner within 24 hours unless possible to complete on the same working day. Take initiative to offer help to co-workers in overload situations when possible. Treat all co-workers and customers courteously. C. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Code of Conduct and aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and shared values. Report promptly any suspected or potential violations of laws, regulations, procedures, policies, and practices, and cooperate in investigations and work with PM to coach and counsel employees. Conduct all transactions in compliance with all company policies, procedures, standards, and practices. Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable compliance and legal requirements of the job based on the scope of practice of the position. D. Ensures that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times. Maintain excellent attendance record and follow sick, rain day, and vacation day procedures. Wear appropriate uniform and PPE for job functions and ensure personal hygiene, keeping truck, yards, and other work areas in good order. Maintain a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with customers and staff. Represent the organization positively and professionally in the community. Maintain organizational and employee confidentiality. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Hearing: Adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
