Sr. Director, Operations

Role Overview The Senior Director of Operations will align Inotiv’s services in discovery and safety assessment to provide a contemporary, effective integrated service to Inotiv’s customers. This role will act as site‑wide leadership and manage a multifunctional team located in the Research Triangle Park HUB in the Raleigh, NC area. The Senior Director will influence department leaders to collaborate with other DSA sites and company leaders, ensuring alignment in cross‑functional and corporate objectives. The position will build strong relationships through consistent communication and foster engagement and collaboration across teams and scientific departments. Key Accountabilities Leads a group comprised of staff ranging from study directors to technical staff charged with the development of study design, execution, and reporting. Ensures facilities meet scientific, regulatory, and inspection agency guidelines and expectations; resolves audit issues and escalates to senior leaders as appropriate. Interfaces with clients and prospects (or delegates as appropriate) while modeling Inotiv’s core values, ensuring all team members are aligned. Partners closely with the business development group to support client and vendor relationships. Promotes an open and communicative culture, fostering a team environment that aligns with Inotiv’s culture and maximizes potential. Manages team priorities and resource allocation for the RTP team, maximizing operational capacity and growth without sacrificing quality or client service. Ensures employees receive effective coaching, mentoring, and training to support growth and development on a consistent basis. Plans and assures adequate staffing, facilities, equipment, and budget preparation and execution, with full P&L responsibility, and serves as test facility manager and Institutional Official. Develops strategic and annual operating plans to advance the division’s mission, objectives, and revenue, profitability, and growth. Oversees site operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, cost‑effective resource management, and utilization maximization. Reviews activity reports and financial statements to assess progress toward objectives and revises plans as conditions change. Evaluates management performance for compliance with established policies and division objectives. Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required. Participates in client communications and site visits. Performs other duties as assigned. Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) regulations and the capacity to support and execute related duties. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree, preferably in life sciences. 8+ years of team leadership experience. 5+ years of experience in P&L management and strategic planning/execution. 3+ years of experience in a CRO or research laboratory environment (preferably GLP/GMP) and in contracting, negotiating, and change management. Experience developing and implementing strategies and procedures. Strong knowledge of business processes, terminology, and compliance requirements. Analytical thinker who identifies root causes and recommends effective solutions. Ability to understand business needs from multiple perspectives and develop both short‑ and long‑term solutions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with peers, leadership, and stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, privacy, and protection of company information. Advanced relevant degree in science (preferred). Experience with government contracting.
