Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven West Coast Sales Director to lead regional sales growth and strengthen customer partnerships across the western United States. This role combines strategic business development, key account leadership, and market expansion, with responsibility for driving revenue growth while supporting customers with high-value ingredient solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding market presence, identifying new commercial opportunities, and building long-term relationships with manufacturers, brand owners, formulators, and distribution partners.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Business Development

  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across food, beverage, nutraceutical, and wellness sectors
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and strategic partnerships
  • Lead commercial negotiations and manage contract discussions with customers and partners
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, networking events, and customer meetings

Key Account Management

  • Manage and grow strategic regional accounts with a focus on long-term partnership development
  • Build relationships with procurement, R&D, product development, and executive stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and portfolio expansion within existing accounts
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and account performance

Market & Commercial Strategy

  • Monitor market trends, customer activity, and competitor developments across the region
  • Provide commercial insight and market intelligence to support business planning and product strategy
  • Collaborate closely with internal technical, operations, and leadership teams to support customer success
  • Contribute to forecasting, pipeline reporting, and strategic growth initiatives

Team Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with technical and customer support teams to deliver tailored customer solutions
  • Support mentoring and leadership initiatives within the wider commercial team
  • Promote a proactive, customer-focused sales culture aligned with company objectives

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in sales leadership, business development, or strategic account management within food ingredients, nutraceuticals, or a related sector
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding regional sales targets
  • Experience managing complex B2B customer relationships and commercial negotiations
  • Strong understanding of ingredient applications, market trends, and customer requirements
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to travel regionally to support customers and business development activities
