Assembler Key Responsibilities

• Assemble components and subassemblies into finished products according to blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and work orders.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches to complete assembly tasks accurately and safely.
• Assemble switchboards, panelboards, copper bussing, and other electrification products to engineering specifications.
• Verify product quality by ensuring assemblies are level, square, and meet design requirements.
• Conduct pre- and post-assembly inspections to identify defects, damage, or nonconforming parts.
• Inspect structural components such as corner posts, roofs, covers, and assemblies for dents, scratches, and other imperfections.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues, identify missing components, and escalate concerns when necessary.
• Utilize computer systems and CAD software to access and follow manufacturing designs and work instructions.
• Communicate production progress, quality concerns, and material shortages to leads and supervisors.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while adhering to all safety procedures.
• Support team goals through collaboration, cross-training, and additional production-related responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and assembly equipment.
• Experience assembling electrical products such as switchboards, panelboards, or similar equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to perform visual inspections and identify assembly defects or nonconforming parts.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including experience using CAD software to view production drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet production deadlines.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with production targets.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management processes.
• Understanding of manufacturing practices, quality standards, and GMP principles.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience participating in root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
• Willingness to learn new skills and grow into additional responsibilities.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Monday through Friday schedule, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
• Work in a modern manufacturing facility producing electrification products.
• Exposure to machinery, production equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and material handling throughout the shift.
• Safety-focused environment requiring:

  • Safety glasses
  • Long pants made of durable material
  • Long sleeves or cut-resistant sleeves
• Comprehensive one-week onboarding and hands-on training program before assignment to production teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
