Chief Financial Officer

A fast-growing professional services firm is seeking a forwardthinking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to work closely with the firm partner in delivering highlevel financial leadership to priority clients. This role is client-facing, acting as a strategic advisor for complex businesses while also mentoring and elevating the internal bookkeeping team. The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative, and focused on improving processes, technology, and overall service quality. Work Model:
- On-Site
- Provide financial guidance to complex, high-priority clients
- Interpret financial data and advise on key business decisions
- Build and oversee advanced reporting such as cash flow projections, budgets, financial models, profitability analysis, and KPI dashboards
- Identify financial risks, inefficiencies, and growth opportunities
- Present insights to business owners and leadership teams
- Support clients with financial strategy, scalability, and operational improvements
- Partner with the finance manager to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial work
- Maintain high standards for reporting accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Review complex accounting treatments and ensure proper transaction coding
- Oversee monthend and yearend processes for priority clients
- Implement internal controls and quality assurance procedures
- Train and mentor the finance team in bookkeeping, coding, financial statements, and workflow management
- Develop standardized processes and best practices
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance support
- Promote accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement across the team
- CPA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience
- Prior experience in cash flow management, financial modeling, and complex reporting
- Experience serving small or midsized businesses, ideally in a public accounting environment
- Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams
- Advanced GAAP knowledge
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Excellent professionalism, accountability, and integrity
