Jomar Electrical Contractors – Houston, TX
Salary: $45,000 per year
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM–4:00 PM | Friday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
100% In-Person

Jomar Electrical Contractors is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. We are specifically seeking someone with hands-on Accounts Receivable experience in electrical contracting, plumbing, HVAC, commercial construction, or a closely related contractor industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the day-to-day accounting needs of a contractor and be comfortable handling customer billing, payments, collections, reconciliations, and account discrepancies with minimal training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and send customer invoices for construction projects.
• Post and apply customer payments accurately.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due balances.
• Communicate with customers regarding invoices, payments, account balances, and discrepancies.
• Research and resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
• Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate AR records.
• Set up and maintain customer and job accounts in the company’s accounting system.
• Assist with construction project billing and supporting documentation.
• Process and maintain AIA pay applications, lien waivers, notices of non-payment, and change-order billing when applicable.
• Work with Project Managers, Operations, and Accounting to resolve billing issues.
• Maintain organized and accurate job and customer records.
• Assist with month-end AR reporting and reconciliation.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on Accounts Receivable experience.
• Experience in electrical contracting, plumbing, HVAC, commercial construction, or a closely related contractor industry is strongly preferred.
• Experience with customer invoicing, payment posting/application, AR aging, collections, and account reconciliation.
• Ability to research and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts and priorities.
• Must be comfortable working 100% in person .

Preferred Construction Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following are highly preferred:

• AIA pay applications
• Lien waivers
• Notices of non-payment
• Construction change orders
• Contractor billing
• Job/customer setup
• Project billing
• Construction accounting
• Working with Project Managers and field operations

• Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
• $45,000 annual salary
• 100% in-person – Houston, TX
