We encourage a culture of inquiry by always asking why, transforming data into meaningful information, and leveraging technology to streamline our processes Our Crude Accounting team is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to support the Crude Oil Acquisition and Marketing business. This role is responsible for crude oil volume actualization, inventory reconciliations, payments of transportation expenses and analytical reporting. The position also supports settlements with customers, monitors and reconciles General Ledger accounts, and performs analysis to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial and operational reporting.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, a commitment to process improvement, and the ability to collaborate effectively across operational, commercial, and accounting teams.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:Participate in the monthly close process and be involved in post close activities including actualizing crude oil volumes for pipeline/terminal locations and reconciling volumes to supporting statements.Process and submit transportation payments related to pipeline and terminal activities.Settle with external customers our monthly receivable and payables. Monitor our vendor and customer balances in SAPWork cross-functionally with Scheduling, Trading, other crude accounting teams and Pipeline groups to ensure our team goals and objectives are achievedCoordinate and address requests from corporate (internal and external) and 3rd party Customer, internal and external audits etc.Maintain documentation and evidence of controls performed to ensure SOX complianceInitiate and implement system upgrade as needed (RightAngle)Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency through automation and system enhancements.Key Attributes Consistently fulfills commitments, maintains transparency, and meets deadlines Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, responding to change with professionalism and a positive solution-oriented attitude Significant level of personal accountability and ownership to identify and address issues with minimal oversight, and assist in implementing innovative solutions for process improvement Embraces and adapts to changes with enthusiasm, contributing to a culture of innovation and efficiency Takes initiative to learn various systems and processes Assumes personal ownership of development and learning Drives communications with other teams/functions as needed Cultivates and maintains productive relationships with internal counterparties to enhance process improvements that are in the best interest of the company Navigates stressful situations professionally, aiming for optimal outcomes Accepts feedback professionally and translates it into positive changes in behavior and performance Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:· Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required· Experience: 5-8 years Required Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. General knowledge of Marketing TransactionsTechnical Skills: Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, or Robotic Process Automation tools is a plus Preferred qualifications: Experience with Rightangle and SAP Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level: The Associate Analyst level requires a bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant job-related experience The Analyst level requires a bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job-related experience The Senior Analyst level requires a bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant job-related experience Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job: Usually, normal office working conditions Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing Occasional overnight travel may be required
