Special Education Paraprofessional (Preschool Instructional Assistant)
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85021 (On-site) local candidates only
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM

Pay :$23.79/hr

Summary

Now hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional (Preschool Instructional Assistant) to support students in a classroom setting. Only accepting local candidates for this position. This Special Education Paraprofessional role focuses on implementing instructional goals, supporting behavioral strategies, and assisting with IEP-related activities under the direction of the Teacher. Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher with instructional objectives, classroom routines, and lesson support
• Support IEP (Individualized Education Plan) goals and behavioral strategies in daily activities
• Tutor students individually and in small groups (academics, daily living skills, social skills)
• Monitor and help students use equipment safely to prevent injury
• Observe, document, and help maintain student records/files per policies and procedures
• Provide hands-on assistance as needed (may include toileting, feeding, hygiene, lifting/positioning)
• Help with transitions and student transport to activities/appointments when required
• Use behavior management techniques and maintain a calm, supportive learning environment
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and consistent communication with classroom staff
• Participate in trainings/workshops to support ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and one of the following:
• • Associate’s Degree, or
  • Completion of 60 college credits , or
  • Valid Paraprofessional Certification
• Current Arizona Driver’s License
• CPR & First Aid certification (current)
• Crisis Intervention Training certification (current) or ability to obtain within required timeline
• Experience supporting students with behavioral needs and/or special education classroom environments (preferred)
• Comfort supporting students in active, hands-on settings (standing, moving, lifting, hygiene support as needed)
• Strong communication skills, organization, multitasking, and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Assistive technology (AT) familiarity, augmentative communication exposure, ASL and/or Braille skills (preferred, as applicable)
