PERMIT TECHNICIAN I (CLASS CODE 2450)

Responsibilities Administrative and technical work that involves reviewing and processing building permit applications, answering questions from applicants, and working with other city departments to resolve building permit issues. Primary responsibilities include start to finish involvement with the permit application process, customer assistance, and other related work as required. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. One (1) year of administrative experience that involved heavy public contact in an office setting or permit processing or related field. Must possess or be able to obtain International Code Council’s Permit Technician Certificate issued within the probationary period. Prior to appointment, the hiring agency must verify education and licenses claimed by the applicant. Experience credit only for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
