Job Description Summary The Women’s Reproductive Behavioral Health (WRBH) Division seeks a Program Manager I to lead operational, educational, and programmatic activities across a portfolio of research, training, technical assistance, and community engagement initiatives focused on improving maternal health outcomes. This role has a strong emphasis on the design, delivery, and evaluation of education and workforce development programs, including training and technical assistance provided to healthcare providers, systems, and community organizations across multiple states. The Program Manager integrates research, clinical practice, and education to expand the adoption of evidence-based maternal mental health practices. The position oversees multiple projects, supports grant development and management, and serves as a key liaison among internal teams, funders, and external partners. Reports to the Division Director. Entity Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC - Univ) Worker Type Employee Worker Sub-Type Research Grant Cost Center CC001043 COM PSYCH Brain & Women's Health CC Pay Rate Type Salary Pay Grade University-GEN11 Pay Range 66,400.00 - 92,900.00 - 119,500.000 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Work Shift Job Description FLSA: Salaried Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Job Duties: 30% - Program Operations and Development Lead day-to-day management of programs spanning research, clinical services, and education, training, and technical assistance initiatives Define deliverables, manage timelines, and ensure successful execution of program goals Collaborate in the development of funding proposals for new and continuing projects, lead creation of key proposal components and review of required materials, contribute to program budget development and oversight Coordinate and support the development and delivery of training programs, learning collaboratives, and technical assistance activities Monitor progress and proactively identify and resolve barriers to completion Coordinate project meetings, including development of agenda, materials, and action summaries Oversee program evaluations; synthesize findings and recommend improvements Serve as liaison to sponsors (federal, state, and foundation), translating updates for leadership and stakeholders 20% - Program Evaluation and Outcomes Reporting Monitor program performance, including training reach, engagement, implementation, fidelity, and sustainability, and learning outcomes Contribute to qualitative and quantitative data analyses to assess program effectiveness and impact Evaluate education and technical assistance models and recommend improvements Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership, stakeholders and funders Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for grant-funded training and TA programs Apply data-driven insights to refine program design and delivery 20% - Program Outreach and Planning Lead and support education, training, and technical assistance strategies for healthcare providers and systems Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare systems, community organizations, and public health agencies Facilitate learning collaboratives, workshops, webinars, and stakeholder forums Promote adoption of evidence-based maternal health practices through targeted outreach Develop communication and dissemination strategies for training materials and program outputs Contribute to the creation of educational and workforce development materials to support diverse learner audiences 15% - Staff Development & Supervision Supervise and mentor program staff, including those supporting education and training initiatives Assign, prioritize, and monitor work to align with program goals Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development planning Address performance issues in collaboration with Human Resources Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and staff training 10% - Stakeholder Communication & Dissemination Contribute to manuscripts, presentations, toolkits, and policy briefs Represent the division in education, training, and technical assistance forums, conferences, and community events Provide regular updates to leadership on program progress, reach, and impact 5% - Special projects Support additional initiatives as prioritized by Division leadership. Preferred Education & Experience: Master’s degree in public health, health sciences, education, or related field Experience in academic health sciences, clinical research, or higher education administration Experience managing education, workforce development, or career development programs, especially in grant-funded environments Background in instructional design, adult learning theory, or curriculum development Experience delivering or coordinating training and technical assistance in healthcare, public health, or academic settings The ideal WRBH Program Manager will possess: strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives; experience in developing and managing extramurally grant programs; expertise in education program planning, training delivery, and technical assistance models; knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design approaches; the ability to evaluate training effectiveness and apply continuous quality improvement; excellent strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary teams; exceptional written and verbal communication skills; and experience with tools supporting education and program delivery, including learning management systems, instructional design platforms (e.g., Articulate or similar), virtual training platforms, data systems (e.g., REDCap), and productivity applications. Depending on project assignments and deliverables, regional travel, holiday, and weekend coverage may be necessary.
