Your Role in Our Mission The Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on operational leader responsible for overseeing daily warehouse functions at the Western Slope Distribution Center, including receiving, inventory, distribution, volunteer operations, dehydrator operations, facilities maintenance, and safety. This role makes day-to-day operational decisions, prioritizes workflow, assigns resources, resolves routine issues, and escalates matters with significant cost, safety, compliance, staffing, or strategic impact to the Operations Manager. The Warehouse Supervisor leads and develops team members, supports volunteers and cross-functional partners, reinforces food safety and regulatory standards, and helps ensure accurate, efficient, safe, and customer-focused operations in support of Food Bank of the Rockies' mission. This position is accountable for strengthening operational consistency, improving processes and SOPs, supporting KPI achievement, and building team capacity across assigned warehouse and facility functions. - In coordination with Operations Manager, fully embrace, drive and implement the Food Bank of the Rockies (FBR) culture through implementation of the employee promise "Invested in My Fulfillment, Committed to Our Success" through instilling trust, collaboration, customer-centric focus and ensuring accountability.
- Make day-to-day operational decisions for Receiving, Inventory, Distribution, Volunteer Operations, and Dehydrator Operations, Facility Maintenance, and Safety, including prioritizing workflow, assigning resources, resolving routine operational issues, and escalating matters involving significant cost, safety, compliance, staffing, or strategic impact to the Operations Manager.
- Establish and manage area Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report and integrate them into tactical planning.
- Improve and establish a portfolio of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the core processes of all areas of responsibility.
- Lead, develop, and coach team members (with talent bench) responsible for Receiving, Inventory, Facility Maintenance, Safety, and Distribution processes, ensuring accuracy, standardized onboarding, and high-quality customer service.
- Supervise Volunteer Operations Lead and collaborate with the Development team, to include coordination on scheduling, training, safety orientation, and daily coordination of warehouse volunteers.
- Supervise Dehydrator Operations Leed, including production, food safety compliance, quality control, documentation, inventory tracking, and coordination with Programs and Sourcing teams.
- Maintain food industry standards in accordance with Feeding America (FA) and American Institute for Baking (AIB) for safety, proper product handling, storage, and warehouse sanitation along with educating staff.
- Oversee Western Slope Distribution Center sourcing and food procurement in collaboration with Operations Manager and the FBR Sourcing Department.
- Supervise Dock Lead operations entailing timely and accurate receiving of products, ensuring proper food safety, inventory controls, as well as pallet selection and loading transfers.
- Oversee results for all inventory operations, including organization, accuracy, problem-solving, and adjustments for all US Department of Agriculture (USDA), donated, and purchased products, including regular cycle counts, monthly balance, and year-end inventory.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive safety program for employees and volunteers.
- Oversee the maintenance of building, equipment, and grounds; ensure all required inspections and sanitation schedules are adhered to as set by company, regulatory or other agencies.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance plans/schedules for facilities infrastructure and safety equipment.
- Monitor and support day-to-day department expense management, including tracking routine spending, identifying budget concerns, and coordinating with the Operations Manager on approvals, financial decisions, and overall budget accountability.
- Monitor and manage food freshness with an elevated focus on produce.
- Support Programs team with inventory allocations for the Western Slope territory.
- Collaborate with Government Programs and Inventory teams at all locations, on processes including but not limited to end of month and annual reporting processes.
- Support all Western Slope departments with digital and physical logistics issues.
- Build staff capacity through the Western Slope volunteer and other programs that may be available.
- Support training, including the learning management system and Ceres database inventory control system.
- Coordinate departmental expenses with Operations Manager and own results.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and other Supervisors on mutual issues such as safety, inventory control issues, American Institute of Baking (AIB) compliance, and overall warehouse strategy.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring the privacy and respect of employees, volunteers, partners, donors, or others.
- Establish and model proactive measures within all areas of operations instilling a culture to predict, prevent, plan, participate and perform to minimize reactive situations as much as possible.

- Ensures Accountability: Establishing clear performance standards and holding self and team accountable for results, through tracking key metrics and ensuring safety compliance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent work-related experience
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or team lead in a high-volume distribution environment
- Previous experience in supporting inventory and warehouse operations
- Proficiency with warehouse management system (WMS)
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and online technologies required
- Experience leading volunteers preferred
- Ability to represent Food Bank of the Rockies with professionalism, sound judgment, and credibility while working effectively with employees, volunteers, partners, donors, vendors, and community stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse, inventory, distribution, receiving, food safety, volunteer operations, facility maintenance, a strong safety culture and production-related processes within a high-volume, compliance-driven environment.
- Ability to oversee multiple operational functions simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, adjust workflow in response to changing business needs, and maintain service levels, accuracy, safety, and accountability across assigned areas.
- Sound decision-making skills, including the ability to make timely day-to-day operational decisions, resolve routine issues independently, assess risk, determine when escalation is required, and balance productivity, safety, compliance, customer service, and resource constraints.
- Strong working knowledge of inventory control practices, warehouse and facility maintenance systems, cycle counts, product handling standards, documentation requirements, quality assurance practices, and promote an overall culture of Safety.
- Ability to interpret, apply, and reinforce policies, procedures, SOPs, safety requirements, AIB food industry standards, and compliance expectations consistently across employees and volunteers.
- Ability to lead, train, coach, and hold direct and indirect team members accountable while building capability, promoting collaboration, and supporting a respectful, inclusive, and customer-focused work environment.
- Ability to operate, maneuver, and support safe use of warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, or other similar equipment, in accordance with training and safety requirements.
- Strong organizational, time management, follow-through, and project execution skills, including the ability to manage details, meet deadlines, and sustain progress across ongoing operational priorities.
- Ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and professionally both verbally and in writing, including giving directions, explaining expectations, documenting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
- Demonstrates compassion and sensitivity to vulnerable populations while maintaining confidentiality, discretion, urgency, and professionalism in interactions with employees, volunteers, partners, donors, and community members.

- Frequent operation of equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, or other machinery
- Frequent work in shared office environment
- Occasional warehouse environment includes a freezer at -10 degrees and a cooler at 32-39 degrees
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
