Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU RN – North Dakota

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with rotating days and nights; every other weekend and holiday required. Self-scheduling available with unit balancing as needed. Flexible rotation patterns based on unit needs.

Highlights:

• Primary focus on critically ill neuro patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes in a 16-bed ICU
• 1:2 to 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting
• Comprehensive 32-hour orientation program including hospital, unit-specific, and critical care department training
• EPIC EMR system with advanced monitoring technology including Phillips systems and AvaSure patient monitoring
• Exposure to diverse critical care populations including neuro, trauma, surgical, and medical patients
• Opportunity to assist with advanced bedside procedures including RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, and line placement

Requirements:

• Active RN license in North Dakota or Compact state
• Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience in a 200+ bed Level 1 Trauma Center
• BLS certification (must be AHA)
• ACLS certification (must be AHA)
• NIHSS certification required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing vasopressor drips (must be documented on resume or skills checklist)
• Experience with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients and neuro critically ill populations
• Previous Neuro ICU experience within the past 2 years highly preferred
• Ability to independently manage critically ill patients
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility (distance-based rate adjustments apply)

Position Details:

This position involves management of 1-3 critically ill patients across varying populations including neuro, surgery, trauma, and medical/surgical cases. You'll manage complex medication drips including vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, and antiarrhythmics while utilizing state-of-the-art equipment including Aleris IV pumps, MOOG feeding pumps, EVDs, and advanced patient monitoring systems.

Float assignments may include other critical care departments with ratios up to 4:1 in Intermediate ICU and up to 3:1 in other ICU settings. Occasional medical-surgical unit float assignments may be required based on facility needs.
