Position Overview

We are seeking skilled General Machinists for a growing manufacturer located in Paw Paw, MI. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, can operate a wide range of manual and CNC machinery, and takes pride in producing high-quality, precision components. This isn’t a button-pushing role—we’re looking for a solid machinist capable of setups, making offsets/edits, running parts, and performing quality checks from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up machines, pull existing programs, make edits/offsets, and run production parts.
• Operate equipment such as Vertical Mills, Surface & OD Grinders, Boring Mills, Engine Lathes, Saws, and Drill Presses.
• Perform mechanical assembly, general machine repair, and maintenance of equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, machine parts, and ensure accuracy throughout each step.
• Inspect parts using micrometers and other precision tools to ensure quality specifications are met.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical/electrical diagrams.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members while also carrying out work independently.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely

Qualifications & Skills

• 1–3 years of machining experience (manual or CNC).
• Ability to read micrometers (depth, inside, outside) and perform accurate measurements.
• Understanding mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Ability to set up machines and confidently run parts (not a basic operator role).
• Basic computer literacy and solid math skills.
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. and handle shop-floor physical demands.
• Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
• A willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must provide your own tools (list provided at the interview).

Employment Type & Compensation

• Type of Employment: This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
• Compensation: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience
• Application Period: This position will remain open until filled

Work Schedule

• 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
