Job Title: ICU Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 3x12 hours Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in ICU and Emergency Room License: Current licensure to practice in Client Certifications: - Current BLS provider certification - Current ACLS provider certification - Current PALS provider certification - NIHSS Certification - Moderate Sedation Certification - Current TNCC Certification Must-Have: Recent Emergency Department and critical care experience Description: Uses the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care. Collects data relevant to patient’s condition and reports critical values to the physician in a timely manner. Assesses appropriate lab and diagnostic data. Documents findings of physical assessment and identifies abnormal findings. Develops a plan of care based on patient needs. Advocates on behalf of the patient and their family. Performs interventions according to patient needs and hospital policy. Evaluates patient outcomes in relation to goals. Adheres to all safety guidelines and exercises the utmost care when interacting with patients. Demonstrates a professional demeanor in interactions with patients, families, peers, and staff. Maintains open communication with nursing management. Floats to other units as needed. Other duties as assigned by management.
