A Clear Path to CFO

A growing project-based organization is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to join its leadership team and play a key role in the company’s continued growth.

This is more than a Director-level opportunity — the successful candidate is expected to transition into the CFO role within approximately six months , creating a defined opportunity for significant career advancement.

The CFO succession will also come with an increase in compensation and enhanced benefits , including full coverage of benefit costs for the employee and their family.

What You'll Do

• Lead accounting and financial operations for a growing, project-based organization
• Oversee project accounting, WIP, job costing, and project profitability
• Own forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial planning
• Lead month-end close and preparation of accurate financial statements
• Analyze project and company performance, margins, and financial trends
• Partner closely with Project Managers and operational leadership
• Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, reporting, and financial systems
• Lead and develop the accounting team
• Provide strategic financial insight while remaining hands-on in the day-to-day operation
• Prepare to assume full CFO responsibilities as part of the planned succession

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive Accounting & Finance experience
• Proven leadership experience within an accounting/finance function
• Strong background in project-based accounting, WIP, job costing, and profitability analysis
• Experience with forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, and full financial reporting
• Construction, EPC, renewable energy, infrastructure, or another project-based environment preferred
• Comfortable partnering with operational and project management teams
• Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable getting into the details
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Technology-savvy and able to quickly learn new accounting systems
• English/Spanish bilingual or multilingual skills are strongly preferred
• International or cross-cultural business experience is a plus

• Starting Base Salary: Up to $175,000
• Bonus: 15%+ annual bonus opportunity
• CFO Succession: Expected transition into the CFO role within approximately six months, based on performance and transition timing
• CFO Compensation Increase: Promotion to CFO comes with an increase in compensation and enhanced benefits
• Enhanced Benefits: Full coverage of benefit costs for the employee and their family following the CFO transition
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
