About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Global Scientific Marketing Affairs in the Companion Animal sector. This pivotal role is accountable for leading scientific and medical strategies across the company's companion animal portfolio, with a focus on driving global marketing strategies, understanding customer and competitive dynamics, and influencing medical policy. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team that handles all aspects of medical activities, including publications, conferences, and medical education planning. Strategic medical leadership, team development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements are key aspects of the position. The role also involves budgeting and financial management, with a strong emphasis on creating and executing global veterinary customer strategies. Candidates for this role must have a DVM, VMD, BVM&S, or equivalent, with an advanced scientific, policy, or business degree preferred. A minimum of 15 years of broad work experience in veterinary practice, leadership, academic, and industry-related activities is required, with a proven track record of inspirational and transformational leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medical and scientific business, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multimillion-dollar budgets. Experience in managing a diverse, multicultural team in a matrix organization and a deep understanding of veterinary medicine, including the ability to challenge and drive the organization towards the success of key veterinary strategies, are essential. The role demands a high level of scientific rigor, the ability to challenge conventions, and a commitment to delivering sustainable value for veterinarians, pet owners, and pet patients.
