Human Resources Manager

Regalo International LLC and Carlson Pet Products are leading manufacturers in the baby and pet products industry, distributing products through major retailers including Amazon, Target, Walmart, and other national accounts. We are seeking an experienced and highly driven HR Manager to serve as the head of Human Resources and the sole HR contact for both our corporate headquarters in Burnsville, MN and warehouse operations in Dupont, WA. This role is responsible for leading and managing all facets of Human Resources across the organization, supporting employees and leadership through strategic partnership, compliance oversight, employee relations, talent management, payroll and benefits administration, safety initiatives, and culture development. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, analytical, and capable of operating independently. Serve as the HR leader and trusted advisor to company leadership and employees across multiple locations. Develop, implement, and administer HR policies, programs, and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive employee and business matters. Provide strategic recommendations and operational HR support to leadership teams. Maintain Employee Handbook and roll out new policies company-wide in regulation with law changes per state and nationally. Payroll & Benefits Administration Administer payroll processes accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws. Manage employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, COBRA, leave administration, and open enrollment. Serve as primary contact for employee benefit questions and vendor coordination. Administer 401(k) plans, including fiduciary responsibilities, compliance oversight, employee education, audits, and vendor management. Manage any employee FMLA or State FMLA leave programs Employee Relations & Performance Management Address employee concerns, grievances, and workplace conflicts in a professional and timely manner. Conduct investigations and provide recommendations for resolution and corrective action when necessary. Guide managers through employee coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans. Oversee performance appraisal processes and assist leadership in developing employee growth initiatives. Recruitment, Onboarding & Retention Manage full-cycle recruitment efforts including sourcing, interviewing, selection, offer administration, and onboarding. Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and workforce planning initiatives. Develop and maintain onboarding and orientation programs that support employee engagement and retention. Promote a positive workplace culture focused on employee experience, retention, and tenure growth. Training & Organizational Development Identify training and development needs across departments and locations. Coordinate and administer employee training programs, including compliance, leadership development, and operational training. Support succession planning and employee development initiatives. Lead company safety initiatives and maintain OSHA compliance programs for office and warehouse operations. Manage workplace injury reporting, workers’ compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and communication with insurance carriers and medical providers. Conduct safety training, maintain records, and support ongoing risk reduction efforts. Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations in Minnesota, Washington, and federal jurisdictions. HR Metrics & Reporting Utilize HR metrics and data analytics to support business decisions and identify trends related to turnover, retention, compensation, recruiting, and employee engagement. Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership regarding workforce planning and HR initiatives. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within manufacturing, distribution, consumer goods, or warehouse environments. Strong working knowledge of multi-state employment laws, including Minnesota and Washington employment regulations. Experience managing payroll, benefits administration, workers’ compensation, OSHA/safety programs, and employee relations. Experience administering 401(k) plans and understanding fiduciary responsibilities. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a hands-on HR environment. Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Proficiency with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now an added plus), payroll systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools. Preferred Qualifications PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred. Experience supporting both corporate and warehouse/distribution environments.
