Our department is dedicated to providing exceptional patient registration services, ensuring a seamless experience for all patients and visitors. Located steps from Amtrak, the QLINE, and the Fisher Buildings, our headquarters offers a blend of downtown energy and convenience, making it an ideal workplace for those in Midtown, New Center, or the northern suburbs.

Role Overview

As a Patient Registration Rep, you will be the welcoming face and voice of Henry Ford Health, ensuring all patients receive a seamless and compassionate registration experience. You will support patients, visitors, and clinical/non-clinical staff by managing registration activities, verifying insurance eligibility, and advocating for patient needs. Your role is crucial in creating a positive first impression and ensuring smooth access to care.

What You Will Do

• Follow standard operating procedures for patient registration, including face-to-face check-in and preregistration.
• Confirm insurance eligibility and manage cash collections.
• Update patient registration and insurance information accurately.
• Respond to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating on their behalf to meet their needs.
• Provide efficient and effective customer relationship management, instilling loyalty and anticipating needs.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person, and in writing.

Preferred:

• One (1) year of experience related to patient admitting, registration, and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
• EPIC training/experience and familiarity with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 medical terminology.
