Job Title: Material Handler Job Description

The Material Handler safely receives, stores, moves, and distributes materials within a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. This role supports production and shipping operations by accurately handling inventory, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, and maintaining precise records in ERP/WMS systems. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a collaborative, process-focused environment.

• Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities, quality, and accompanying documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Unload materials safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools.
• Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues promptly to ensure timely resolution.
• Label and organize stock for accurate identification, traceability, and efficient retrieval.
• Store materials in designated locations according to warehouse layout, safety standards, and inventory guidelines.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by updating records in ERP/WMS systems, including platforms such as SAP.
• Move materials to production lines, workstations, or shipping areas as needed to support manufacturing and logistics operations.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory audits to ensure stock levels remain accurate and current.
• Use RF scanners and related technology to pick, pack, load, unload, and track materials and orders.
• Support general labor, general production, packing, loading, unloading, order picking, and shipping and receiving activities as required.
• Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment in full compliance with safety regulations.
• Follow workplace safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment to prevent accidents and maintain a secure environment.
• Contribute to warehouse inventory control by monitoring stock, reporting variances, and helping to resolve discrepancies.
• Participate in continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and submitting improvement recommendations as required.
• Collaborate with team members by monitoring and updating white boards and other communication tools to keep issues visible and communication strong.

• At least 2 years of forklift experience, including both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• Proven experience with inventory responsibility, ideally using SAP or another warehouse management system (WMS).
• Hands-on experience with material handling, including pallet jacks, reach trucks, and RF scanners.
• Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed in a warehouse and production environment.
• High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow instructions and complete documentation.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft suite and general computer use.
• Experience in shipping and receiving, order picking, loading, unloading, and warehouse inventory activities.
• Comfort working with general labor, general production, packing, and related warehouse tasks.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to support a collaborative and process-focused culture.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Cycle counting experience is a plus.
• Previous use of ERP or WMS systems such as SAP for inventory control.
• Familiarity with Lean practices and continuous improvement concepts.
• Comfort working in a quality-first environment where safety and process are prioritized.
• Openness to contributing process improvement ideas and participating in structured improvement programs.

The role is based in a climate-controlled, clean manufacturing and warehouse facility that emphasizes safety and quality. The environment follows Lean practices and uses ergonomic workstations to enhance comfort and productivity. Employees work primarily on a 1st shift (6:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) or a 2nd shift (3:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., Monday through Friday), with a requirement to work on Saturday when needed and when mandated. The facility operates as a quality-over-quantity environment, prioritizing safety and process consistency before production volume. The culture is diverse, collaborative, and laid back, with a strong focus on helping people be successful and on continuous improvement. The workplace is temperature controlled and requires steel-toed or composite safety shoes, safety glasses, and gloves as standard personal protective equipment. This is a Permanent position based out of Greenwood, IN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
