Head of Corporate FP&A
TRM Labs
Build a Safer World.
TRM Labs provides AI-powered intelligence solutions that help public and private sector agencies investigate and disrupt crime. TRM's platforms enable investigators to trace illicit activity, build cases, and construct operating pictures of threat networks. Leading agencies and businesses worldwide rely on TRM to make the world safer and more secure.
The role
TRM is hiring a Head of Corporate FP&A to build the financial operating system for our next stage of growth.
Reporting to the VP of Finance and partnering closely with TRM’s executive team, you will own how the company plans, forecasts, measures performance, and translates financial results into decisions. You will bring together the company’s operating plans, establish a dependable source of truth, and help leadership make informed decisions that shape TRM’s growth, investments, and financial performance.
TRM has made a significant investment in Pigment as its core planning platform. You will own how Pigment is designed, governed, and used as the operating backbone for forecasting, management reporting, scenario planning, and decision-making across the company.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a core Finance function at a high-growth company operating at the intersection of AI, national security, and financial integrity. You will work directly on consequential executive, board, and fundraising questions and have the latitude to improve the systems and operating cadence behind them.
This is a hands-on functional leadership role. From day one, you will lead a lean Corporate FP&A function while personally owning its highest-leverage work. You will have the mandate to shape the longer-term organization and build the team and capabilities TRM needs as it scales.
The impact you will have
Own TRM’s long-range, annual, quarterly, and rolling planning processes and maintain a driver-based consolidated forecast across the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, headcount, revenue, and operating investments.
Translate company priorities into an integrated financial and operating plan, maintaining clear resource-allocation and spending guardrails as conditions change.
Own and evolve Pigment as TRM’s core financial planning and performance-management platform, refining its models, data architecture, governance, and workflows to support timely decisions and scalable adoption across the company.
Design and run TRM’s company-wide financial operating cadence—including monthly business reviews, budget-versus-actual analysis, rolling forecasts, annual planning, budget-owner reviews, period bridges, and follow-through.
Proactively assess company performance, identify the drivers and implications that matter most, and partner with Finance and business leaders to translate those insights into decisions and actions.
Produce clear executive and board narratives and lead Corporate FP&A’s work in major financing processes, including financial projections, scenario analysis, investor materials, diligence, and data-room readiness.
Use AI and automation to improve data reconciliation, planning, reporting, forecasting, scenario analysis, insight generation, and recurring workflows while maintaining appropriate controls.
Define the longer-term roadmap for Corporate FP&A, including its processes, systems, standards, and future team structure.
Strategic questions you will help answer
How should TRM allocate resources across its most important growth opportunities while remaining on track to achieve its financial objectives?
How do revenue, investment, profitability, and cash evolve under different operating scenarios?
Which metrics provide the earliest signal of how performance is evolving relative to plan, and what decisions should follow?
How can Pigment, AI, and better processes give leaders faster and clearer insight into company performance?
How should TRM present its financial performance, outlook, and investment thesis to its Board and prospective investors?
What we’re looking for
Significant experience in Corporate FP&A or a similar role responsible for company-wide planning at a high-growth technology company. You have independently owned budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and the broader financial operating cadence. We care more about the scale and complexity of what you have owned than an exact number of years.
An investor- and CEO-oriented view of company performance: you instinctively identify the metrics, leading indicators, risks, and value-creation opportunities that matter and translate them into action.
Experience building functions, developing people, or creating leverage through clear standards, systems, and coaching—even when the initial team is lean.
Hands-on experience owning and improving a modern enterprise planning system, including its model design, data flows, governance, workflows, scalability, and adoption. Direct Pigment experience is highly valued but not required; deep ownership of Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, or a comparable system can provide a strong foundation.
Exceptional financial and analytical skills, including driver-based forecasting, scenario analysis, integrated financial modeling, and a strong understanding of GAAP financial statements.
The judgment and executive communication skills to identify the questions that matter, develop a point of view, and create concise, decision-ready recommendations. You have meaningful experience owning board reporting and supporting fundraising, financial diligence, or other high-stakes corporate processes.
The ability to move comfortably between company-level strategic questions and the details of a model, forecast, variance, or planning-system workflow.
Applied AI fluency: you can demonstrate how you have used AI to improve modeling, data reconciliation, analysis, reporting, scenario planning, or recurring workflows while maintaining appropriate controls—and identify where AI can most materially increase Finance’s leverage.
High standards, low ego, and the ability to thrive in an environment that values ownership, speed, candid feedback, and continuous improvement.
About the Finance team
Finance at TRM is a high-leverage organization that works directly with company leadership on resource allocation, performance, investment decisions, and long-term strategy. Our job is not simply to report the numbers—it is to help the company make better decisions.
Corporate FP&A works alongside dedicated Strategic Finance partnership for GTM and R&D, as well as Accounting, Finance Operations, and Procurement. You will connect these perspectives into an integrated company-wide plan and financial narrative while owning the systems and operating cadence that make that plan actionable.
What success looks like
Within your first 30 days:
You understand TRM’s financial model, key business drivers, and current planning and reporting cycle.
You understand the current Pigment architecture, data flows, manual dependencies, governance, and highest-priority improvement opportunities.
You have established critical relationships, taken ownership of the active reporting and planning cycle, delivered an initial upgraded management-reporting package, and produced a sequenced plan for improving Pigment and the broader modeling architecture—including what will intentionally be deferred.
Within your first six months:
TRM’s leaders trust a single, current financial plan, and reporting arrives on a dependable cadence that identifies material changes early and leads clearly to decisions and actions.
The consolidated forecast provides a trusted, driver-based view of growth, investment, profitability, and cash and supports credible scenario planning.
Pigment is operating as a trusted, documented, and scalable source of truth for forecasting, scenario planning, and management reporting.
Board and fundraising materials are supported by a consistent financial narrative and a diligence-ready source of truth.
You independently own the Corporate FP&A operating cycle, proactively bring forward recommendations that improve company-level judgment, capital allocation, and investor readiness, and have established a roadmap for the function’s longer-term systems, processes, and organizational capacity.

TRM moves quickly. We are a high velocity, high ownership team that expects clarity, follow-through, and impact. People who thrive here are energized by hard problems, experimentation, and continuous feedback. If something takes months elsewhere, it will ship here in days.
Our work sits at the intersection of AI, national security, and fighting crime. The problems are complex, the stakes are real, and the environment evolves quickly. The pace and intensity of the work reflect the importance of the mission. As a result, the way we operate requires a high level of ownership, adaptability, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.
At TRM, you should expect:
Priorities and targets to change quickly as we experiment and iterate
Work that often requires operating with a high degree of ambiguity
A high level of personal ownership and accountability
Close collaboration across teams and functions
Frequent, high-touch communication
Creative problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking
A pace that rewards urgency, adaptability, and outcomes
This environment is energizing for people who enjoy building, solving hard problems, and making progress in situations that are not always fully defined. If you are primarily optimizing for predictability or a consistently balanced workload, we encourage you to use the interview process to pressure test whether this environment is truly the right fit. We want teammates who thrive here, not just survival here.
At the same time, many people find this work deeply rewarding. If you are excited by meaningful problems, motivated by ambitious goals, and energized by working alongside mission-driven colleagues, there is a good chance you will find TRM to be an exceptional place to grow and contribute.
