Personal Injury Legal Assistant -

Schedule : Schedule : Full-Time or Part-time, 20 hrs/week (could be 5 days/week, 4 hrs/day, or could be 2.5 days, flexible) 100% ONSITE

Pay Range : $35

Duration : Contract-to-perm position for the right fit

Location : San Jose, CA 95112

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Legal Assistant to support a busy attorney in a San Jose law office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law, excellent organizational skills, and hands-on proficiency in WordPerfect.

This position involves providing comprehensive administrative and legal support for personal injury cases, from initial client intake through resolution. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, preparing legal documents, managing deadlines, and handling multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Client intake and correspondence
Coordinate and assist with medical treatment
Collect and organize medical records
Manage deadlines
Schedule court appearances and depositions
Drafting, propounding, and responding to discovery
Prepare, edit, proofread, and format legal documents using WordPerfect .
Ongoing client communication
Supporting the attorney, as needed

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Strong hands-on proficiency in WordPerfect is highly preferred, including preparing, editing, and formatting legal documents.
Ability to manage complex procedural information
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Word Perfect
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
