Responsibilities

Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety protocols.

Prepare specimens for lab testing, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and handling in line with clinical standards.

Maintain accurate records of collections and related documentation daily.

Create a trusting environment for patients by explaining procedures clearly and professionally, demonstrating sensitivity and confidentiality.

Perform specimen processing duties according to established practices and procedures, both in forensic and clinical contexts.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment that upholds a positive image for patients and staff.

Adhere to schedules and perform tasks accurately and timely under minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership behaviors when appropriate.

Comfortably manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting, ensuring error-free work and patient safety at all times.

Required Skills

Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Excellent customer service and communication skills to foster trust with patients.

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry, ensuring precise documentation.

Error-free work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating process excellence.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred, especially in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience required; over one year of experience preferred.

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs.

Must have reliable transportation to the worksite; candidates must list home city and commute time on their resume, ideally within 20-25 minutes of the site.

Strong organizational skills and ability to accurately maintain patient records and documentation.

Ability to handle high-volume, demanding environments while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
