Location: Northeast Maryland (Fully Onsite)

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + Benefits

About the Opportunity

A growing, mission-driven organization is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting function and serve as a key financial partner to leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, improving processes, and making a visible impact within an organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and cash management
• Prepare monthly financial statements, P&Ls, and management reports
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Assist with annual audits and regulatory reporting
• Monitor grant compliance and reporting requirements
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and intercompany reconciliations
• Process payroll and oversee related accounting functions
• Identify process improvements and implement accounting best practices
• Partner with executive leadership on financial planning and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support
• Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounting function
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Nonprofit and grant accounting experience is a plus but not required
