Claims Representative (IAP) - Workers Compensation Training Program | Ontario, CA

Primary Purpose of the Role This position is for a new industry professional that will commence in a 4‑week concept‑based training program, followed by a dedicated onboarding experience. The trainee will be assigned a mentor and manager and will be equipped with foundational skills needed for a successful career in claims adjusting. The program begins on the next class date, 7/20/26 , at the Ontario, CA onsite location. Adjust various levels of workers’ compensation claims under close supervision, including processing and responding to incoming mail, emails, and other claim related documents in accordance with claim status. Communicate effectively with injured workers, insurers/employers, medical providers, attorneys, and carrier representatives, primarily by telephone, video conference and email. Investigate new and existing claims by gathering relevant information such as medical records, employer reports and witness statements. Investigate employer/employee relationships, policy verification, coverage and any potential subrogation issues or fraud indicators. Determine coverage, compensability and appropriate benefits in accordance with jurisdictional guidelines and carrier program requirements. Document claims files and properly code claim activity. Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations. Administer claim benefits, including indemnity and medical benefits, through maintenance of calendared claim‑related action items and ensuring state compliance. Participate in virtual and/or in‑person meetings, claim reviews and business functions as needed for educational training, claim discussions and various meetings. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 2 years of customer service experience or a combination of education and experience. Work Environment Requirements Ability to think clearly and conceptually, exercise excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving, analysis, and discretion. Ability to handle work‑related stress and multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Computer keyboarding proficiency. Hearing, vision and speaking ability. Compensation and Benefits Compensation is based on a range of factors including skill set, experience and location. For this jurisdiction the starting pay range is $27.69 per hour .
